Earlier this year, we installed a large solar energy system on site at Hermitage Lodge. Harnessing the Hunter’s sunshine helps us reduce our reliance on the grid and operate more sustainably — it’s a natural choice for our location and values.
All our bathroom amenities are provided in premium, reusable pump-style dispensers from Vanity and Co. We don’t do single-use amenities — instead, we offer high-quality, thoughtfully selected products that are better for the planet and better for your stay.
Smart water usage continues to be a focus for our property and operations. Hermitage Lodge isn’t connected to town water — we rely solely on rainwater for drinking and showering. To support this, we have an advanced filtration system and expanded our rainwater collection and storage capacity, ensuring guests enjoy fresh, clean water without compromising on comfort or sustainability.
Our irrigation and wastewater systems recycle and treat grey water to nourish our vineyards, gardens, and lawns — helping us care for the land and reduce pressure on local resources.
We also proudly preserve 15 acres of retained bushland on the property, providing a thriving habitat for kangaroos and a wide variety of native birdlife. This natural space supports local biodiversity and offers guests the chance to connect with the beauty of our surrounding flora and fauna.
